FSSAI Food Licence Registration
The mandatory food-safety registration or licence for any food business.
What FSSAI registration is
Any food business operator — manufacturing, processing, storing, distributing, or selling food — needs an FSSAI registration or licence under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
The tier depends on turnover and scale: Basic Registration for turnover up to ₹12 lakh, a State Licence for ₹12 lakh to ₹20 crore, and a Central Licence above ₹20 crore or for specified activities and importers.
The FSSAI number must be displayed and is increasingly required by marketplaces and large buyers.
